How to Play Blackjack

Game Objective

The goal of Blackjack is simple: get a hand value as close to 21 as possible without going over (busting). You're playing against the dealer, and if your hand beats theirs without busting, you win!

Card Values

  • Number Cards (2-10): Face value
  • Face Cards (J, Q, K): Worth 10 points
  • Aces: Worth 1 or 11 (whichever is better for your hand)

Your Actions

  • Hit: Draw another card to increase your hand value. You can hit as many times as you want, but if you go over 21, you bust and lose.
  • Stand: Keep your current hand and end your turn. The dealer will then play their hand.
  • Double Down: Double your bet and receive exactly one more card, then automatically stand. Great when you have a strong starting hand!

Winning Conditions

  • Blackjack (Natural 21): Ace + 10-value card on first deal = 3:2 payout (e.g., $10 bet wins $25)
  • Beat the Dealer: Hand closer to 21 than dealer = 2:1 payout
  • Dealer Busts: If dealer goes over 21, you win!
  • Push: Same value as dealer = bet returned

  • • Dealer must hit until they reach 17 or higher
